Last week, Localingua attended the Global Employer Summit in Cleveland that was coordinated and planned by their partner, Global Cleveland, and hosted by the InterContinental Hotel.
The event focused on taking advantage of international talent and becoming more involved with the rich diversity that is already such a big part of Northeast Ohio. The goal was to help employers better understand how to hire international employees and the benefits that a diverse workforce can provide not only to a company, but also to the local economy as a whole.
Among the panelists and presenters were representatives from the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western University, Team NEO, the Refugee Services Collaborative, and businesses like Jergens, Envoy, Jumpstart, and Thompson Hine. The event also featured the presentations by international students, who explained innovative business ideas that they had come up with to attendees.
The summit was a learning experience, which shed light on the economic changes happening in Cleveland today. Localingua was happy to hear from such a wide range of presenters, and to have the opportunity to connect with local diversity and help facilitate communication wherever possible.
